In honor of 8 years of service, the logo will be a throwback of the original 2007 logo for the rest of this week. :senile:

I miss Scott and his Girlfriend Hazy... Stupot, hopper, Logan, and Hails too.

Ha, I just found the original logo file.

I didn't do too bad recreating it from that screenshot after all. Just a bit darker.

Original logo is back, 2007 logo is now in the footer.

I really do like the 2007 logo. So, this is my method of keeping both of them. :p

Also, much like the 8 years slogan, the footer logo will not display on mobile devices or when the minimum page width isn't met.

So, it's nice and clean for mobile devices. :cat:

Both logos and the slogan were created at 300dpi, so it should also display somewhat better on high resolution devices too.

300DPI translates into big filesize though

Nothing is over 15KB. The footer logo, aka 2007, is only 12KB with the header logo and slogan being even smaller.

    GIMP has good optimization.

The entire index page on an initial load is ~285KB and that includes all images, scripts, text, etc. I could probably knock that down to ~200KB if I was interested enough, but since 90% of the resources are cached clientside after the first view, I don't see a big enough interest in it.

Outside of the logos and any UGC, most images are just a single sprite. That cuts down on file size and load times considerably.
